Default Diameter of Lower Radiator Hose

Anyone know it?

In case anyone is wondering exactly which hose I am referring to its the hose that attaches to the bottom driver's side of the radiator and connects to the thermostat.

Thanks in advance.

Kwame, it is 1 3/4" outer diameter. Given the thickness of the hose (on my silicone hoses), inner diameter should be 1 1/2"

Thanks, looks like Justin already has the measurements. I appreciate your willingness to help me out. Actually, with my engineering background I should know that two measurements are always more helpful than one. It the thick hose that has an "s" shape to it.

Thanks Justin. Did you measure it or is that an educated guess?

I measured the OD. The inner diameter is an educated guess based on how thick the hose is, since the hose was still attached.

edit: It should be mentioned that my silicone hoses are Venair, and judging by superblack's pics of his samcos, are either thicker or contain more plies.

Just to let you guys know in case you were wondering. I need the measurement to order a SARD Lower Hose adapter for my breather tank.

The thing is it comes in measurements of 28-40mm in increments of 2mm. So now I am a little lost, according to Justin's measurement of 1.5" that would equate to 38mm. and according to Superblack's measurement of about 1.25" that equates to 32mm. I might just end up buying both and trying each.

Greddy 34mm water temp adapter is what I used to use, 40mm sounds a bit too larg.

I am almost 100% sure I used a prosport 34mm temp adapter in my upper radiator hose.

Are the upper and lower hoses the same diameter?

Thanks Justin. I will be using Black Samcos so I guess I will go off of superblack's pics. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks Viet, I'm thinking 32 or 34 should be fine. I think I am going to go with the 34mm, its obviously much easier to get the hose to expand then it is to shrink.

Thanks again everyone.

Yup, they should both be the same size.

Just for complete book keeping. Since I found this thread looking for the same info.

It looks like 1-5/16inch
