Default Another Satisfied Crawford Z Customer

I would like to add another positive review to a great product offered by Crawford Z. I installed the Plenum and STB today. Instructions and pix were excellent and easy to follow. Definitely a DIY!

Performance wise, the car PULLS from 4K onward to redline without hesitation and unlabored! It's almost like VTEC on a Honda . Torque down low remains unchanged, based on the "Butt-Dyno". There is a definite induction sound from 4K onward, but not intrusive; rather melodious. Overall, this car just hauls *** from 4K onward! Very pleased!

This product transformed the car a helluva lot more than when I had only the Y-pipe/Straight pipe combo.

Thanks Doug!

How would you describe the sound. I don't want just more noise too te allready muddy intake booms that mute some of my deliscious soundng Borla dual. I wouldn't mind something that wasnt louder than stock but had more character, more open and throughty.

I know I sound like a friggen ***** but I really want the car to sound better in the cabin. Summers almost over and I'll have to roll up the windows soon. Plus I allready know the plenum rocks performance wise....

That is a good description.

I took another Z owner for a drive on Saturday and he thought it sounded great. Doug is trying the borla this week so we will be able to let you know how that sounds.

Maybe someone else who has this combo and can comment on the sound.

I have Dougs Plenum and Borla's True Dual Exhaust. The sound is great and the Z pulls like crazy. This is an exellent combo.I had a chance to AtuoX this weekend with the BMW club. The Z had the second fastest time behind a Z06 (with Paul driving my Z). As far as the strut bar is concerned, there was no rubbing at all. Great mods Doug, keep up the good work.

Does the strut bar come as part of the package or is that a separate purchase? Can you still use the factory engine cover?

The STB is a separate purchase. The engine cover is no longer useable .

Brad,

The sound is just like what you wanted. More open and throaty from 4K onward. It's only louder than stock when you give some gas, but not annoying loud.

Has anyone out there thought about fabricating a new engine cover to be used with the Crawford Z plenum? I would like to keep my engine bay LOOKING as stock as possible.

There is not enough clearance for even a custom piece. It does not look stock, but it does not look bad either.

Agree'd I just installed mine a coupe of days ago on my G35 sedan. I can't commment on any sound's the pleneum might make at 4k cause my Injen CAI dominates the sounds comming from under the hood, which btw it perfectly happy with the crawford pleneum. I installed mine in about an hour and sent them back my old core the very next day.

Another satisified customer here also. Mine is in a "G Coupe" though, and in the "G" you can use the engine cover, but it doesn't sit flat, due to the height of the plenum. Also there is a slight gap to the Oil Filler. Car pulls like crazy though. My exhaust is a fabricated true dual setup. Magnaflow muffler and two Blue Streak Glasspacks. The thing sounds awesome. The plenum is the best bang for the buck out there.

Lou
