Default 3.3 FINAL GEAR RATIO

Has anybody installed the 3.3 gears on their TT set up, and the PROS AND CONS of it????

I know some people have installed the 4.0 for N/A.

I also cant seem to find where to buy the 3.3 GEARS.

Thanks for anybody's info.

Didn't you already start one of these yesterday which was answered with try searching in the FI section. There are definitely many threads about it which will answer all your questions and more.

Love mine. You wouldn't be shifting into 5th in the quarter, so your times will go down

general consensus is if you dont have 550+ whp, then you car will feel slower.

3.3 is an OEM ring & pinion gear set... any Nissan/Infiniti dealer can get it... Performance Nissan in Duarte might have in stock? I would check with them or Riverside Infiniti... but any should be able order it.

I'm not sure about his comment... but what he was referring to is on a FI car... for FI taller gears are advantageous because with shorter ears like 3.9, 4.0, etc rev come too quick and you really have no ability to use first, second... 3.3 helps.

For NA - shorter gears like 3.5 or 3.7 for AT and 3.9 or 4.0 for MT are what you mentioned and are worth it.

I started a thread, and have posted my opinions and experiences on it several times! Search specifically in the FI section....starting a thread that was closed already isnt a good idea.
