Exclamation Questions with LS1 swap in 350z

I know it fits (barely) but what front suspension mods need to be done? and does the LS1 sync up with the 6speed trans of the 350? Have an LS1 motor trying to put it to good use just wondering if anyone knows all the steps to get this done. Im thinking fuel system and trans and driveshaft will all need to be replaced? or am i wrong?

Theres many things that need to be done with the swap the few you listed are just the start. If your in hinesville you should come to the savannah z meets 3 tuesday of every month at the locos off abercorn. Pm if you ever wanna go or need directions.

Hmmm...now this would be totally against my purpose to have a Z that I could drive in the winter, but I do have a LS2 sitting in my garage. I actually didnt think a Z would have room. Got my wheels turning.

I have been milling over putting an LS motor in my old ladies 4wd toyota and it got me thinkin about my z alittle as well.

Are you thinking about suspension in terms of the "extra weight" of a v8. I poked around for a minute and didnt find anything but i would bet there is a round 100lb difference maybe 150lb in weight though i could be wrong.

some things I thought about...

-throttle by wire issues

-CAN-BUS issues. I think a custom split harness and a gen VII DFI or sumthin may work

-350z tranny is a no go without an adapter. and if you use the z tranny you will most likely need a custom clutch disk with the right splines.

-I dont have DEQ tests or anything like that but do you? and what would DEQ think about the swap?

i know there is more.. i'll be back

oh if I was going to do it and i had an LS1... I would get it running and working with LS1 while I was saving for my LSX

I wonder if it is too much hp for such a small vehicle. i.e. what happens when you put 600hp in a VW Bug ?

It has been done before, or do you just doubt that the OP owns one?

I am going to put an LS7 in mine with a sheetmetal intake with a 105tb and a nitrous direct port injection and T56 behind it. Go for it bud, don't quote me but I heard that the LSX engines are lighter then the engine that are in are cars. It will be hella fun. Be prepare to get in lots of trouble I now I do when I am driving my 07 ZO6. I am going to be using the stock engine that I pulled out of the ZO6 but I am not going to leave it stock by now means. If you want to go with the new LS3 engine it weights in at 448lbs.
