I am curious to know if it is possible to put one of these alternators on our cars (350z). My alternator has went out and I wanted to upgrade it to something a little better. I heard these have 130Amp output, whereas ours only put out 110Amps. Has anyone done this? or can confirm that it will work?

In any case it looks like the Pathfinder or Quest Alternator might fit, I really can't tell as the pictures that I have found on the net aren't the greatest.

list the specific amps you're running
keep in mind that adding the fuses is a good way to get a rough idea, but that # is only going to be applicable with the amps playing at full gain and max volume, constantly
there are a few aftermarket alternators out there - Kwame has one in his car, or I spoke to a place out west that had done one too

ok - the RMS ratings of the 1200x is 300x1 at 4 ohms, 600x1 at 2 ohms and 1200x1 at 1 ohm. Are you running a 1 ohm sub?
the RMS ratings on the 800.4 is 100x4, 200x4 (only at 2 ohms) - are you running your speakers at 2 ohms?

Lets hope that a yellow top optima, a 2 farad capacitor and the "Big 3" wiring will do the trick . If not then, I will go with an HO alternator. Thanks for the responses...
