I use royal purple in my eclipse GSX and it works great. Looks dirty going in and looks dirty coming out. works for me lol. IIRC royal purple is more for a higher performance engines, turbo, supercharged, high hp/tq cars.

BTW dont change to a more expensive oil just to have the cool name. I use mobil1 since day one in my Z also and I ill never change.

Exactly how have you been determining that it actually "works for me" any better/worse than oil costing 1/2 as much.

And for everyone's infomation, you can get Mobil 1 alot cheaper by buying it in 5 qt containers at WalMart. Same for Penzoil Plat, Castrol etc....

I've been running Royal Purple. No problems at all. Mobile 1 is good stuff though. If you are happy with it and it's cheaper then don't bother switching.

Ummm because I feel the smoothness and I dont have to change my oil that much. I'll run my gsx for 5k miles before changing it. Boost seemed to rise a bit smoother and also just all around better. Oil leeks were a little better to.

i remember on horsepower tv they did a test on a engine with the oil, and transmission fluid and the car gained i think 5 hp on a dyno. i thought it was pretty cool. but it was a wile ago. i use what the nissan dealership puts in. Castrol Syntec.. works good for me.

Read this sticky on engine oil analysis before you decide to make your switch.

I've used RP on my car since I got it and I've tracked the crap out of the car from autox to road courses to drag racing and I just hit 60K and did a compression test and it's 179-181 across the board if that helps. Feels like its still running strong.
