Wow, I almost cant not understand what is being said in this thread. You guys speak english?
If you blew the headgasket, coolant will seep into the combustion chamber. It will produce a whole lot of white smoke like a James Bond smoke screen.
If you over revved the engine it's more likely that you bent a valve. That is why the car will not hold an idle due to the dead cylinder. The best thing to do is start with a simple compression test that will give you a really good idea. If you have low compression in one cylinder take it to Nissan and play stupid. If that works will all depend on what the comptuer captured and tells them.
You may be into buying a new motor for your car (or head at least) on your own.
Regards,

I dont think they can read the ecu, can they? ( in the GTR yes ) but not in the Z i dont think. They wont be able to tell that you abused your car ( correct me if im wrong )... BUT if your car is modded they can probably give you BS on that... but they still cant void the warranty enless they can prove that the damage was done by an aftermarket component .
If you have done anything to the engine, I would return it back to stock. Well at least thats what I would do. good luck

^^^ engine is 100% stock OEM! i dont even have the drop in filters... i barely drive it as it is. i got this car with 8.5K miles back in late march...right now it reads 14K miles.. Im really dissapointed how it just broke like that, maybe i can blame the original owner
OK, let me jump in and save this thread.....unbelievable.
First of all...relax. Take a deep breath.
1) The chances of you bending a valve by hitting the limiter in 1st gear on a stock car is about nill.
2) The stock ECU on the 350Z does not capture or record anything. THere is a vehicle data recorder on the new GTR only.
Is the car running now? What is the car's current status?

My guess is an electrical gremel, bad coil pack...something along those lines. I am sure you'll be fine, and the dealer will take care of it. Best of luck.

Just got a call from the dealer... mostly everybody was right...it was a piston that went out. Getting a new motor....but i still cant get it through my mind that my engine just went out like that; when i hardly use it and i hardly abuse it(if flooring it is abuse)! I would expect that from a sedan or my 10 year old altima...

i don't think so
