JWT clutch Vs stock OEM clutch ( help )
hi guys.
i have started my APS single turbo install. and decided to go with JWT clutch kit since my clutch is almost gone.
i know that JWT have modified the stock clutch kit for better load and same for the pressure plate for better clamping force. but i what i have received today shocked me.. no trade mark for JWT . instaed i found Nissan part number ....
i compared my stock with the ones i received and it was 100% the same.
i am afraid i received a wrong a clutch. is there a way to differentiate between them??
is what i got normal ???

^^ Hey i hear ya! i freaked out when i got mine in also, i never saw a nissan part number, but i honestly didnt look to hard........i already had the car apart, so i was putting that baby in! and that was that!
sure was a JWT clutch because it was way stronger and loads more confidence inspiring.....so other than calling your vendor and verbally asking and making sure, i dont know what JWT does to identify thier clutches???
but it would be nice if they did something, cause i was wondering the same thing when i got mine.........but there is no doubt mine is oem configuration clutch.........my jwt is nice! just what i was looking for.
hope that helps..

thanks guys..
i was realy shocked today. and was look for even a sticker. and in my mind i was saying: "comon JWT guys.. at least fool me with a sticker on the stock clutch.." hehe .. cause the nissan part number is showing i was like WTF .. even my installer was shocked. i mean there should be a way to diffrentaite thier product... i will try to call them and check.
thanks guys for the input..

The difference to my knowledge is that they modify the pressure plates to increase clamping force..........i dont know if they actually switch to a different clutch material - i doubt it........
i mean if you really give the oem clutch some track days, you can see that its not confidence inspiring as in clutch engagement, and pressure in the pedal is not tough at all.....
the jwt clutch version the pressure and engagement are THERE! BAMN! very confidence inspiring.......
SOo.: I'm my educated and experience response to the question, is that the JWT clutch is a nissan clutch with a modified and increased pressure plate.....

stock disk is organic
the vast majority of a clutches holding power is in the tension of the fingers of the pressure plate. Other factors such as disk diameter and disk material also play a role as well

chatter is due to installer error. rather the flywheel surface was not resurfaced or the flywheel was not clean. there for there is a foreign film between the clutch and the flywheel causing the chatter.....now to the difference between the two setups. jwt is basically a stonger pressure plate. basically a modified stock unit to hold extra ft lb of torque. jwt is a nice setup regardless if its stock parts modified. ive seen them hold up quite strong with no slippage whatsoever on a sc and turbo g's and z's.
