Default >> Fuel Damper, Engine Knocking.<<

Good morning everyone!,

So 3 weeks ago my car started to make a noise. It sounded like a "knocking noise" coming from the passenger side. I would only hear it at IDLE, or when coming to a stop. The weather In NY hasn't been great lately so I never went to Nissan.

5 days ago I finally went to Nissan because the noise got very, very annoying.

5/1/2009 - Nissan ( Nissan city North ) told me that the Fuel Damper? is causing the noise. It is NOT covered under the gold extended warranty. It will cost $255 to fix.

I left the service center. I told them not to do it for now. They agreed.

9/1/2009- I went to another Nissan 30min away. They also told me/ showed me that the FUEL DAMPER isn't covered under the warranty.

** They also said it will cost $600-700! ( whatt?? ) and that the FUEL DAMPER doesn't make any noise whats so ever.

NOW IAM losttt!!!! Thank god MY350Z is here

Has this ever happened to anyone? How much does the part cost? Is it an easy job to do yourself?

p.s- There was 1 thread I found on this, it was very OLD!.. and never updated. There was barely any info.
