is it just my car that grinds on 3rd?
it seems to grind once in a while..
it only grinds on 3rd..
well..
its getting more often
should i go to dealer?
i think they will say 'could not duplicate (problem)" since it doesnt happen all the time..
any suggestions?
it grinds even when the clutch is fully depressed..
well..
when it doesnt grind, it doesnt though clutch is not fully depressed.
so i guess fully depressing the clutch isnt the problem..

Yes there is synchro proble with the first two genrations of this gear box.
Our first souple of race we were rebuilding the transmission befoer every race weekend. We received updates for the gearbox which helped out teh 5/6 shift fork issue but we were still having a grind
And if you guys thought yours was bad on the street..imagine what it was like in a race application......
We have also had the best luck with Mobil One syn gear oil...
We then received vesion three which has all new internals and have had (knock on wood) very good luck with it as its held up the last two race weekends.

 

Had this problem exactly, the mechanic at my dealership was well aware of the issue as Nissan has already made note in technical reports. New Transmission ordered and installed with no hassle and has completely corrected the grind. This is a well known issue to all (do Search).

 

Im also having this very same problem with the clutch pedal fully pressed shifting into 3rd it will grind every once and a while. I was worried about taking it in but if they have a third update now I think it is time.
