Default KP Technologies, 2 Step & No Lift Shift Module

I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin, founder & mastermind behind KP tech, and was up at his house to get the new 2 step & No lift shift module.

I was impressed right away by his courtesy and knowledge of electrical systems. His unit is universal and will fit any 4, 6, 8 cylinder car.

My first impressions overall unit! I think it is great, user programmable 2-step on the fly, and a adjustable ignition retard for no lift shifting. I am still tweaking this setting with a few more high speed runs, should have it dialed in.

The No lift takes a decent amount of fine tuning to get it perfect for my style of driving and the timing that matches all of my shift points. Since my 1-2, 3-4 are faster than my 2-3, 3-5, I have noticed especially since Kevin pointed it out. One great thing about this is I keep boost in between shifts, and never have to worry about being out of power. I understand having haltech that these options are available, however i really like being able to change my two step without a computer and using a pedal sequence allowing me to goto the track without a laptop to get my drop point correct. I was building upward of 5psi in 2step and I really think will add to consistency down the track.

I will have further review upon final tuning of the shift mod, but the two step is absolutely badass and for under $200 it is totally worth it.

There wasn't enough interest to persue the electronic line lock - I think I was the only person who thought it was a "good" idea.

This module is NOW available on our website!

We have split it up in to three modules - the No Lift Shift module, the Two Step module, and a module that contains both. The pricing is $79.99 for one feature or $129.99 for both features.

However, until the end of May, 2009, we are offering $20 off the module with BOTH features - so you can get the No Lift Shift AND Two Step for $109.99 (plus shipping). To get the discount use coupon code TSNL-25 when checking out.

For more info or to order check out: http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php#/21

If anyone has any questions about this please let me know!

I am testing this module in a couple of weeks at the top dawg contest down in Fontana. We will see how is can make my shifting consistent and faster against some faster cars.

No, it doesn't tap in to the TPS signal on the Z, it uses the APP signal. The APP signal is 100% controlled by the driver, the TPS signal is controlled by the ECU. Because of this, we feel the APP signal is a better signal to control something like this.

for the 2 step launch control and no lift shift product, I get few questions here:

1.for the 2 step launch control, if I put it on my car, is it not good for car's engine and transmission? how does this thing working? what's the basic principle for it?

2.for the no lift shift, the description said ignition cutting. I just worry about does it cut petrol at the same time with ignition? if it doesn't cut petrol, the petrol will stay in engine without burning, then it's not good for engine.

so could you plz explain those questions. thanks

It works by randomly cutting ignition to individual cylinders once the preset RPM has been reached. It does not cut fuel. It is no worse on a motor or transmission then launching a car by normal means.

When the ignition is cut fuel doesn't stay in the engine without burning, it is pushed out with the air. This is why this isn't recomended for cars with cats - the raw fuel will end up in the cat (not in the motor) which can quickly saturate a cat causing excessive heat and premature cat failure.

It will work with the OEM cruise control clutch switch, not the starter interlock clutch switch.

The module needs to know the instant the clutch is pushed down - it can't wait until the clutch is all the way to the floor.
