Default PowerSteering Maintenance Fluid Change-INTERVAL NEEDED!!!

Does anyone know how often one should change the powersteering fluid? Its not listed in the regular maintenance area of the FSM or in the periodic maintenance guide. My car currently has about 67k and its an 04 model.

http://www.*********.com/zwiki/Perio...ntenance_Guide

Is it every 100k like the spark plugs or sooner?

Thanks for any help

It's not listed because there isn't a recommended interval. Flush it if it starts to get dirty, discolored or smells burnt. Personally, I'd do it around 50K miles otherwise.

And more often if you track your car

Not necessary but...

If you are under the car changing transmission fluid or gear oil, why not do it then?

I have a favorite shop that does fluid changes.

While under the car, the mechanic tightens all the after market exhaust stuff, and checks for broken brackets and welds. Good preventive maintenance always heads-off future headaches.

I guess theres a few ways to change a powersteering fluid. but the easiest is the suck and replace the fluid in the power steering reservoir every week until it looks new (if so how many qts for a Z???????).

How much do you guys pay for the PS fluid change? At a shop.

I'll do it myself since I do everything else anyway...
