With any aftermarket modification, the dealer would have to prove (in some way) that THAT particular modification lead to the damage/failure of a particular part.

Of course, the above statement is in theory. In all practicality, if you suspect tranny problems (as some people have even with new cars), get the tranny taken care of first. After you've been on your 2nd, 3rd of Nth revision of Nissan's tranny, and you're ready to use the SSK, go for it!

You can also remove the SSK, if you ever have to go back to the dealer as well as it takes approximately 1 hour for install.

Excellent. I was just about to email you and see if they were going out this week. Last I heard they were going out on Tues. or Weds. I see you also charged my card. Good. Glad to see everything is somewhat on schedule. I can't wait to install it. I downloaded the instructions and it is nothing I can't handle. Actually looks very simple. I am guesstimating mine will be here next week sometime. I will give an evaluation on how well it shifts.

Yes, you can pick it up, but please call us in advance. We don't have a "retail storefront" as we're located in an industrial park. Therefore, you need to call us to confirm your arrival time.

Our telephone is 201-444-8150. Our normal hours of operation are M-F from 9-5pm.

Also, NJ customers are also subject to state sales tax.

This is a picture of the lower section of the Rogue Engineering 350Z shifter being machined. This part takes the longest to manufacture. The reverse hook is sorta tricky, but after some clever setup and machining, production has been smooth.

Ben,

Is this the shifter BJ is running in the GA Cup 350Z? How would using the NISMO Titanium GT shift **** affect your shifter feel? I would think it would shorten the shift length even more.

I was expecing a call from BJ today, but never got it. I was planning on overnighting him a shifter for the race, but doesn't look like it will happen for the weekend.

I'm new to this so here is my newbie question. What does short shifter improve for shifting? is it so that you can shift faster? more accurately? Thanks.

The basic concept of a short shifter is to reduce the TRAVEL of the shifter lever when you move it between gears.

For example, in other cars (not specifically the 350Z), throws are VERY long. From 3 to 4th gear feels like you're rowing a boat. By installing a short shifter, it reduces the long travel and makes shifting not only more satisfying, but also quicker.

In the 350Z, throws are shorter than other cars. However, we do reduce the throws an additional 20%, making it feel even tighter more positive.

HTH.

After several conversations with them, I believe this to also be the case.

I'm sure we'll find out more when they return from racing.
