oil catch can legal or illegal??
Thinking about doing the homemade oil catch can DIY on this forum. but i was wonder are they legal or illegal?? looking at both the passeger side oil catch can and driver side beather??? any links will help??

It's illegal...according to emission standards. Basically you cannot modify anything PCV wise, and the catchcan is doing just that. Some smog shops probably won't care, some may ask you to put everything back to stock. I'm sure officers might give you **** about it too.

cali has the worst emission standards. i can see the oil catch can NOT being illegal cuz pretty much do is filter the air cleaner back into the engine should be legal. but the breather vent air out to which it makes illegal which i have read on here. ya the pigs will give me %$#$ about the oil catch can...specially right now they have been pulling people over crazy in my area due to the buget cut....sh&t everything in cali has to be stamp with a c.a.r.b sticker...

OK, I'll bite... Why the heck would this be illegal? You're capturing blowby oil and reusing it, rather than burning it... You're STILL not releasing the oil fumes into the atmosphere, so... what's the problem?
I would think that even in Cali-EPA-fornia, it would not only be legal, but perhaps even preferable.
Someone help me out here...
