It's illegal...according to emission standards. Basically you cannot modify anything PCV wise, and the catchcan is doing just that. Some smog shops probably won't care, some may ask you to put everything back to stock. I'm sure officers might give you **** about it too.

cali has the worst emission standards. i can see the oil catch can NOT being illegal cuz pretty much do is filter the air cleaner back into the engine should be legal. but the breather vent air out to which it makes illegal which i have read on here. ya the pigs will give me %$#$ about the oil catch can...specially right now they have been pulling people over crazy in my area due to the buget cut....sh&t everything in cali has to be stamp with a c.a.r.b sticker...

I'm not sure about that, seems like that would be one of the last things they would start back up. They make more money by making you go to court and pay bigger fines.

OK, I'll bite... Why the heck would this be illegal? You're capturing blowby oil and reusing it, rather than burning it... You're STILL not releasing the oil fumes into the atmosphere, so... what's the problem?

I would think that even in Cali-EPA-fornia, it would not only be legal, but perhaps even preferable.

Someone help me out here...

changes the emissions system and does not have a CARB number = illegal in Cali. Doesn't have to make sense, it is government.
