Hey Everyone,
I'm trying to weld on the O2 bung for my wideband, but i'm running into a snag because of the High flow cats design. As you can see in the picture, there's not really much room on the "pipe" portion of the HFC to weld the O2 bung. Question is: Will it throw off the readings if I weld the bung onto the tapered part of the HFC before the substrate material? (The red circle in the picture) Thanks!

I went ahead and welded it onto the cat, although Zeitronix recommended against it. I tried to get to a place on the header, but it was impossible to get in there at a good angle. I'll put a couple head sinks on it and hope that it holds up.

Well I believe you could mount it where you indicated. I don’t recommend it though. If you do I would recommend a cool down period after tuning runs before doing the next one to make sure your AFR readings are good. Also removing the sensor during racing activities to protect it from any heat damage. (used spark plugs fit the same hole if you need a simple plug to fill the spot). I don’t know how much mounting there will affect readings or how bad the potential for damage is.
