Default clutch recomendations

In the process of installing a new clutch and don't want the OEM unit. Been away from z's for 10 years and don't know what is current. Been doing some research and I am thinking about the JWT HD clutch kit. JWT lightweight flywheel , IPP chromoly clutch pivot ball , IPP ss clutch line , and the Nismo roller bearing pilot bushing. Can you give me a recomendation or am I on the right track.

I posted several “clutch” critiques. Search is your friend.

Like eltness350 already mentioned, it really does depend on what you're trying to put to the ground. For a stock Z the JWT combo is great, that's what I'm currently using and I like it so far. I do however plan on running something else once I go FI.

...and IMHO the Nismo roller bearing pilot bushing is a complete waste of money. Granted it's only like $10, I wouldn't bother unless it was included in some type of package deal.

It really all depends on what you have planned for your build. If you're going boosted in the future plan for that and get a stronger clutch than you need at the moment. We're running our new Street Performance clutch in our company G35 coupe and it's been flawless. Stock-like pedal and engagement and it's been beaten on at the track a couple of times already as well. That is what we push for N/A cars but would never put it in a F/I car.

I just had the JWT HD clutch kit, JWT lightweight flywheel, chromoly clutch pivot ball , SS clutch line , and the Nismo roller bearing pilot bushing (all came together in a package). A great deal at that.

The JWT clutch feels much much heavier in regards to pedal feel. Engagement is flawless however. Acceleration rev up is noticeable as is downshifting in that the lighter flywheel spools up and down quicker. Definitely does not feel anything close to stock. I like how the car behaves with it though so I'll just get used to the heavier feel. Hope that helps...

+1 on ordering from Import Parts Pro. That's where I got mine from, not only did they have the best price at the time but the customer service is second to none.

What would u guys recommend for a N20 clutch. My car makes over 430tk. Would the JWT clutch be able to hang with that power and last?

That's exactly where I got it. You're right in that customer service is second to none with this place. I think it was Kyle that I had dealt with.
