Default camshaft sensors revup vs non revup

upon inspection of my new built block (a revup), i noticed there is 4 openings for camshaft sensors. my old de only has 2. a few questions i have are

1.) will the 2 de cam sensors i have work on the revup?

2.) do i indeed need 4 canshaft sensors total?

3.) are there 2 intake and 2 exhaust sensors? would i ultimately need all 4 new ones?

this is on a complete revup block, not just the head so i dont believe i can plug . just found this today, so figure id ask. help me out guys!

hah thats what i want to know as well. the rev up motor has extra exhaust cam sensors which the DE doesn't have....

I still dont understand....why not just leave the exhaust cam sensors unplugged on the rev up and just plug in the DE intake cam sensors or even see if the rev up intake sensors work? Also just use the DE cams or aftermarket DE cams...

Curious if the inner timing cover is the same and i know the rev up timing cover is different....

Everyone is telling me..you need to swap harness or use a standalone....

maxima heres what i pulled from g35 driver http://g35driver.com/forums/tuner-dy...rness-ecu.html

The rev-up motor has variable valve timing on BOTH the intake and exhaust valves. The non-rev-up motor only has variable valve timing on the intake valves. Hence the missing cam sensor plugs.

so looks like we would need exhaust sensors. i dont think there would be a problem running de cam sensors and revup exhaust sensors (i hope the cam sensors stayed the same throughout the years..wouldnt see why not)

this ish is frustrating. keep finding more missing **** as i go along lol.

Some people put RevUp engines into early non-RevUp VQ's just to have a running car that they can drive. That works fine for a daily driver.

If you put a RevUp engine into a non-RevUp car, and are interested in performance, you should control the exhaust cams, too.

Ohh..didn't know you swapped ecu and main harness lol. I don't have any of the sensors from the motor I bought sorry...

I just took apart the rev up motor today. I will look at the heads tmrw compared with 04 non rev up maxima heads tmrw. All I remember seeing is there's 2 cam sensor holes per head.

What im trying to do is use my 04.5 ecu and harness, use the rev up heads, plugging the exhaust cam sensors and probably be swapping a few timing components to make it work...

you cam use the revup heads and plug the 2 exhaust cam sensors if you use it on your non revup de, however if you do want the revup w/ all 4 sensors, they run about $70 a pop.

so after a bit of searching i answered my own questions, and i hope i answered yours too
