Default Lowering Engine Bay Temps: wraps or other?

Looking to lower the engine temps slightly on the '03 Z coupe. I'm thinking my clutch lines are getting too hot. I've got stainless lines & good fluid on the way, but was thinking I could try to cool the bay temps by wrapping the headers (oem). I've heard mixed things about header wrap causing the headers to rust prematurely, any other suggestions on lowering temps?

btw- the Engine is not 'running hot' the gauge always stays slightlyt lower than mid-mark so it's not a coolant issue or anything, just thought it could be a simple mod for precautionary measures.

Thanks

I wouldnt wrap the headers because I've heard that it will make them crack due to uneven heating. Getting them jet coated would be your best bet.

Thumbs up

Wrap your clutch line in heat tape. The clutch line is very close to the headers and my clutch would go soft/stick to the floor after 45min of aggressive driving in the summer (in Cali). After 3x wrapping the clutch line all the way to the tranny I no longer have that problem.

Sounds like that could fix my problem. I'll wrap the new clutch lines when they get in. Yeah $200.00 on jetcoating stock headers seems a bit extreme. But maybe that means I should get some good aftermarket headers

Thanks for the suggestions
