-----------------------------------------------------

You seem to forget WE drive those nice looking, expensive sports cars... Come with us to a GT event where there are $100k+ Porsche turbos... THOSE guys build some rigged parts.
Weve all seen those GT Porsche's with duct tape! Where the tape adds 50+HP....

sorry... not 50+hp, but 50+MPH

...because the driver knocked off his fender or wing when coming around turn 2.... and Duct Tape gave him back 50MPH from drag that he lost from not having a fender...

I would like to purchase the "bling bling" plenum, who do i paypal the money to and etc, and also, is there anywhere I can place the strut bar or is there a specialized one I could get due to the removal of the stock to fit the plenum, or will it be fine without it?

I think it looks "functional". Obviously it's made to work really well and looks are a secondary consideration. If it has to look like that to work well and cost a reasonable price, then fine, I'll use it.

If you're going to throw away some very easy performance just because you don't like the way the weld looks, well, that's your choice.

Honestly, $500 is a reasonable price for a very useful modification like this.

so what you are saying is that I send $450 for plenum and $200 for brace=$650 total, and you "trust" us to send our stock plenum. if we want to keep it, we send $200.

in other words, I just send $650 for the plenum AND brace and you send them out and I send you mine back when I get them?? So you don't require the extra $200 UPFRONT for the core??

if so, I am VERY VERY close to buying. I have been almost $200 short for a while, and that has delayed my purchase, but if this is how its done, I am soooooooooooo stocked!!

please let me know

i don't think it works like that. i think you pay for everything, and if you send back the stock plenum then they refund the $200. or at least thats how i understand it. (i do not own a crawford plenum, so perhaps someone who has gone through the process can clarify)

And sometimes attention to detail says a lot about the company building the product. Sometimes it doesn't. But on a car this nice, that kind of detail does matter to some degree. I mean, it's something I would at least take into consideration.

How about the stability of the car on the track without the stb?
I want to race my car and push good times but if the handling is worst for just 8hp I don't see the reason.

www.crawfordzcar.com

There are pics, prices, installation manual, etc.

You have to call the shop to order. Mention my350z.com to get the group pricing.

Please search for Crawford or plenum on this site. There are many of your questions answered over and over on those threads. Also there are several testimonials.

All the details work. I'm not sure you get my point. A ton of attention was paid to the details that count: functionality. They did a lot of testing to make the flow just right. To me, that's the most important detail of all. It's not a decoration, it's an air intake for my engine.

Most important detail: perfect air flow
Secondary detail: looks good

It costs $500 because he didn't spend a lot of time making it pretty. That's also why the cut up the Nissan plenum instead of casting one from scratch. The bling-bling version costs three times as much.

Buy the pretty one if it means that much to you. But for those who need power and can't afford to spend a ton on nothing but looks, the standard Crawford plenum is a great compromise. It's not pretty but it works perfectly. Or to put it another way: the looks cost twice as much as the functionality. Buy the functionality, then pay twice as much more if you want the looks.

what will this mod do to the factor warrenty? To get the 2 hundreds dollars back, you have to send in your old one...just worried about what the dealership might say to me about the new part on the engine?

It really depends on the dealer, some are cool with mods others won't touch your car after you've done anything to it. Ask around the service department.

Um, dumb question -- would this plenum be compatible with a tt? That is, would I have to take it off for some custom parts in a twin turbo install in the future?

I don't think there is anything to be confused about. Crawford has to chop up a plenum to make a new one. They need to pay for extra plenums. Therefore, until you send one in, your cost is $700. Once you send your old plenum in, so Crawford can turn it into a new Crawford plenum, you get a $200 refund, for a net cost of $500. This is pretty basic commerce here.

In good faith we entrust you to send the core back...

That is what it means...

We will charge you only the amount of the new plenum, on the premise you will send the core back. If we don't receive your core back within a few weeks you will see an additional charge of $200.

Tons of companies charge you on the front end... this means more hassle of credit/debits, etc... We'd rather trust the community that they will do the right thing and help out the other enthusiasts.

By a plenum, return your old plenum. Simple as that.
