Default Exedy stage 2 engagement?

Any one know how harsh the engagement of the Exedy stage 2 is? I'm looking for a cost effective clutch for drift/track (n/a). I need to pull the car on the trailer without smoking the clutch. The stage 2 is a 3 pad sprung hub. I know 6 pad sprung hub clutches suck for smooth engagement.

Thanks!

PS. I did a search and came up empty handed.

Not on a Z they don't - the 6 puck sprungs I've used (mainly ACT) work great.

The 3 puck ones work, but not something I'd ever install on my own car. The fewer pucks you have, by nature, the more grabby and not-smooth engagement will be

If you have limited power mods, a stock clutch will work just fine. If you can't get the car on the trailer without smoking the clutch, that's a driver issue, not a clutch issue. Takes some practice

I assume you mean they suck for tolerable engagement (like nothing-nothing-nothing...EVERYTHING!-stall) even though it's sprung (3 pad). More "on/off" style I suppose.

No doubt I'm staying N/A for a while. Problem is, once you start clutch kicking (low power car mid-drift), serious life starts to leave the stocker. I don't wanna have to nurse the clutch for longevity.

Ouch!

Sounds to me you like the ACT 6 pad sprung...which flywheel do you like?

the ACT's are the most popular with our customers, but I've not had any issues with the other popular units like JWT
