mrev2 on a non-revup
hey guys i have a 03, intake exhaust, i have the 5/16 motordyne iso thermal spacer and have been looking into a mrev2, but i have seen tonight alot of people saying not to get it for a non revup, why is this? it says it gives significant gains on their site.
what does everyone have to say good or bad, anyone have dyno results before and after

really?, good to know, so how are they claiming that the mrev2 with the spacer will give 20 horse minimum, i am not concerned if it only gains a little at redline, but if it gains 20 horse mid range that is totally worth it. So it is not gonna gain anything matched with the spacer? on a non revup

I dont know of any single mod short of F/I or nitrous that will gain 20 HP. There are a few 300WHP Z's still running the stock non-revup lower. That is proof enough for me that the lower is fine with just a spacer.

(by the way, that was my clip on youtube about the crawford HFC)

Here is a quote pulled from their website:
"When used with on the non-REVUP engine, the gains are very similar to that of the 5/16" spacer but the MREV 2 Manifold will show a slightly lower peak value, with a slightly higher average value and a slightly higher TQ value. Overall, MREV 2 Manifold provides "area under the curve" and is the highest gain plenum mod available."
These are similar results to just adding the spacer that you already have.

ah no ****, lol. . i am going to be spraying 100 shot actually, but anyway, some say its worth it and some say its not, i just read a thread showing a guy with high flows, pop charger and 5/16 spacer with the mrev, and made 13whp, still with stock exhaust. its a gain but hard to tell if he would have gained that without the mrev cause there is no before after dyno,it was all done at once. what you think about underdrive pulleys? around the same price. still don't know what cats to get for my car with this nismo..

We're talking maybe 3 or 4 HP here at best. Not worth the price of admission.
Underdrive pulleys in theory can free up some of the parasitic HP losses from turning your power steering, A/C, etc... But the downside is that they also eliminate the harmonic damper. Harmonic vibrations can cause power loss and do cause excess wear and fatigue to your crank shaft.
Some people have not had any problems with pulleys. Others have. You may feel a little bit more response but I would bet power would be less at high RPM.

so maybe ill hold off on them then, and just get my high flows, pick up some headers and a utec and get tuned and spray the **** out of it at the track. been sort of thinking about picking up some gears also, people seem to like them.
so hesitant on the high flows though cause i don't wanna have them for a month and have them crack. . gonna have to see who offers a warranty on them and how long it is for.

HFC will make a difference. Gears will make a big difference.
Some people see little to no gains with headers. I picked up a little more midrange torque and top end power after my headers (with a good tune). With cams, headers can make a significant difference.

i'm in the same exact boat. i have the non-revup and was thinking of getting spacer with mrev2. although there ARE gains with mrev2 on the no-revup, maybe other mods for the same price can give higher hp / tq gain.
am i to understand that if you have the spacer on non-revup engine, hfc will give more hp than mrev2?
are there any other mods (vs mrev2) for around the same price that would give more hp / tq?
