Default 06 rev up V2 replacement:: Mod and tune before or after break in period?

So I finally got approval from NNA to have my long blocked swapped for a new V2 engine. I have a boatload of bolt-ons and thinking of cams as well.

My question is...should I install my mods and get it tuned soon after the first oil change (<100 miles) OR wait til the break in period is done and then install mods?

Mods are in signature. Aiming for 300whp or close to it. Not going FI.

My thinking:

Pros:
-engine will be optimized and broken in w better breathing mods=better engine life and long term performance?

Cons:
-car still might consume oil, but I do have extended warranty (I'm assuming it will be covered til 60k, please correct me if I'm wrong)
-if car does consume oil, I'll have to pull everything off.

I'm sure there are more pros and cons so help me out.

Discuss freely.

Thanks!

First off, i dont think your going to get 300 wheel without some boost.

Second, your gonna want to wait to install any aftermarket anything until your sure the car isn't consuming.

Third, i dont think having the engine breath better during break in will increase engine life. At best you will void your warranty on your new engine.

Forth, just boost it. NA mods are quite simply a waste of money if your planning on bolting a boatload of stuff on.

I would wait tell after to make sure your motor is ok the mods that you have in your sig arent much and isnt worth voiding your warranty.

I would wait on putting your mods on until after your break in period. I had my motor replaced with the v2 and im not sure yet if its consuming. You wont be able to hit 300hp will just full bolt on's and a tune with a DE. I dynoed at 241 on a mustang dyno with exhaust, resonated TP's, intake and upper plenum. I recomend you getting a new clutch and flywheel as well (JWT)

How many miles do you have on your V2?

I also have to get my car in for service about the oil consumption myself. Just pulled off my mrev2 and spacer today. I debate if I actually want to keep them or just sell them though, incase the v2 engine still consumes.

first off you can reach 300rwhp without boost NA Z1 did it its totally doable. 2nd there hasnt been a fully built NA revup that i know of and its already proven they put a little more power down then the 287 motor so another reason why you shouldnt knock the goal. Second N20 is a very cheap way to reach almost 350rwhp or whatever your aiming for realiably if done correctly with a tune.

Im heading for that goal also, in japan they broke the 300rwhp goal a long time ago with the reg de and Z1 was the only one that i seen do it with actually building a NA engine.

I think its doable on a revup with the best bolt ons and a haltech, but thats just my opinion. I wouldnt tell anyone to go FI on a DD unless they have the funds to deal with every possible outcome. That would be just irresponsible.

Id say go for 300! And dyno and show us the progress!

Thanks for the encouragement.

I'm worried that V2 engines may have a lower power output, but I've also read that they engine just aren't broken in yet...can you attest to this at all?
