Car making weird noises when parked on a hill. *need suggestions*
When I start up my car on a hill (front of car pointing downwards) a loud, deep rattling/tapping noise comes from the floor area. Ive checked all exhaust gaskets and none of them are leaking. It only lasts about 5-10 seconds and its more noticeable when its colder out (50-60). Its not the (engine ticking, clutch out rattling noise or any of the common noises). Ill try to recreate the noise and post up a sound clip. Thanks

yea, what up with that "hill parking" ?
seriously though, could it be the timing chain ? but then you say floor area.... so exhaust banging on something down there ? get it on a lift an look !

I wish I could park somewhere else. I jacked up the rear of the car and started her up but I couldnt isolate the noise. It goes away within 5-10 seconds so its hard to find where its exactly coming from.
EDIT: I dont think its the exhaust banging or timing chain, those would be described as kind of a higher pitched tapping or rattling. This is more of a deeper/low tapping or rattling.

Is it a clicking noise? If it is then its the bolts and different lubrication on the differential (I think thats where they were) which was a recall.. I had it to when you park on a hill or go in reverse it almost sounds like baseball cards in bicycle spokes... If thats what it is then your good to go!! Took them 1 hour and it was free and has been good for the last 15K miles!

Edit- Sorry for the quick and broad response I am at work but I hate seeing a fellow Z member trying to figure out an issue and hadnt gotten it resolved yet...
