Default Clutch Replacement Recommendations '06

My clutch is starting to slip with 55k on it. I want to upgrade it but not "break the bank" and desire something comparable to the feel of the OEM. I have a 2006 model.

Any recommendations?

I am located in Washington DC. If anyone knows of a place for the install.

Thanks.

Stephen

None of aftermarket clutch/flywheel price can not beat OEM price.

If your car is just DD, i would stick with OEM tho, that's just my two cents.

Welcome. If it looks like the OEM clutch, it will perform similar.

If it looks like above maybe skip it.

It does chatter, sometimes quite noticeably, but I love the setup... Yes, it does rev up and down much faster than stock...

if you are N/A and don't run nitrous, just get a stocker or a nismo. No reason to "upgrade" if stock feel is what you want

I'm needing to do the same thing I think. Dealer claims the horrible squeak that comes from releasing the clutch (sound coming from transmission casing) requires labor that would justify just buying a new clutch.

How much does a new OEM or RPS clutch cost with install? Would I need anything else like a flywheel? Car has 95k miles.

RPS will be cheaper than oem. You will need flywheel, clutch, throwout bearing (which is the part that is making the noise) and I would upgrade to a SS clutch line.

the OEM is considerably cheaper than RPS. Not to mention the OE clutch can use an OE flywheel, where the RPS requires use of their flywheel

A good, cost effective combo is the Exedy Sport Clutch + ACT flywheel, or the JWT

The flywheel can't be resurfaced, as it's a dual mass unit, but as long as it drive smoothly (no jerking from a dead stop) it could easily be reused.

What would the cost be of the combos you mentioned plus install? Where should I buy it and where should get them installed?

As for the flywheel, I believe my OEM should be fine... but I'm not really sure.
