My engine is going on 160,000 miles and I would like to rebuild the engine before she gives out. As off right now she hardly has any power. Every time I try to give it some gas the car seems to be detonating, so I lay of the pedal and I slowly give her gas and she will start speeding up. I am sure there's a bunch of carbon build up in the valves..... Surely the compression is low and ex...... I am a student at School of Automotive Machinist so machining the block, porting the heads is not going to be a problem. If you all could give me a heads up on where to look for the parts that would be great. Thanks.
