I have the Stillen SC and have put around 2000 miles on it. In hot weather it doesn ping at low RPM when you slam the throttle. This problem does not exist in cooler conditions. You will also notice the car is horrible when it Heat soaks. Stillen had my car for a week and Steve Millen told me they were going to everything they could to fix any pinging problems. Well they didnt and figured out that when they first were developing the SC the gas was better. They put in 91 octane gas recently and the Stillen SMZ started pinging. They suggested I use a octane booster until the gas shortage isnt there and octane ratings are better (91 usually is closer to 92 octane, but right now it's at about 91). Anyway I need to get the intercooler as soon as Stillen is done testing it.

Car feels really fast when it is under 70 degrees out. When the temp rises above 70 it starts feeling like it cant breath and feels sluggish. I think as soon as the intercooler comes out the car will be much better. I mean my brother has a BMW 330CI and i was racing around with him in 90 degree heat and he was keeping up with me, although I would pull away by a few cars 1/2 mile down the road. But honestly I think the Stillen is a good choice and makes sense for this engine. I mean I would love to crank out more like the ATI but i just dont think it is safe. Also we both live in CA and the gas only get 91 octane. This car needs better octane and I use octane booster that Stillen sells everytime I fill my tank.

The hood modification will spoil the beautiful lines of the Roadster, unfortunately.

So the Nissan Dealerships are installing the STILLEN SC and not the ATI.... Well, that says enough for me. Does anyone know if it's all the dealers (in Cali) or just the more 'aftermarket aware' dealers?

Just aftermarket aware. They don't sell it and they require a waiver. I don't think the hood will spoil the lines of the roadster. The Z has had a cowl induction in the past (my 88 Turbo had one). Also, as I mentioned above, the Roadster has the bumps behind the headrests. The bump on the hood just might balance those bumps. I'm sure there are those who will never agree, but I'll post pics as soon as the hood is installed.

You may see a Nissan dealer installing ATI SC by January 1st. I will let them make the anouncement since it is not set in stone yet but dont be suprised when it happens...
