My New Rear Diff Oil Cooler INSTALLED!
A friend of mine i my club with a G35 and I have been working on these setups on our cars for a little while now. His was the first to finish, but I have not had an oppertunity to snap pics yet. We basically wanted to finally hook up a rear-diff cooler for our cars, and the only real kit out there is ARC which is way too much $$$.
We basically made our oun peace-meal kits using setrab cooling cores, Earls and XRP lines and fittings, Tilton for the pump, Earl's for the inline filter and Motul 90PA on the fluid (for our clutch type LSDs). We both already have the Nismo Finned Diff Cover on the cars. All that's left is the wiring for the switch and relay.
We just finished my install this afternoon, here are some pics
(bracketry for the hoses is still not 100% done, I just used some aluminum clamps for the time being).
Just thought I'd share the new stuff, lol, getting bored, and running out of stuff to do haha.

Looks good - I almost pulled the trigger on a similar setup, but my car doesnt see enough track time for it to make sense... but the cost isnt to bad -somewhere in the ~400 range but that includes a core not quite as big as that one.....

Looks great. Not that there is a lot of room under there, but did you take into consideration where the cooler will have the most optimal airflow? I'm looking at a similar setup, but haven't taken the time to really analyze the undercarriage.

The middle of the under side seems to be a pretty decent place for airflow considering it's the same spot where the OEM muffler has the air diffuser to aid in aerodynamics. I'm still considering fabricating some paneling to house the cooler in the front to guide air in, and a custom vented diffuser for the exit side. But that's still something to do later on.
The suspension is powdercoated yes.

If anyone is at all interested, I can piece a kit together for about $650-800 depending on the product/brands you choose to go with.
The hardest thing is anticipating a good mounting location for the core and pump based on what exhausts people have. I think all in all, the mounting will VARY from car to car depending 100% on the exhaust setup...

Also, for those asking what I do with the car, it's primarily a show car, but it's set up fairly well for track use if need be. Everything is pretty balanced, and adjustable, but even if I wanted to track the car, I have hardly enough time these days to hit up the few shows I do go to...
The pump doesn't need to be turned on until the oil is heated up under hard driving conditions. You can actually prematurely wear out the pump if you turn it on with the diff oil still cold... so normal driving the pump will remain off. Everything operates just the same with the pump on or off.
