Do the swap first, then worry about selling your VQ.

LS1=Gods engine of choice.........HR=Baby Jesus's engine of choice. You can't lose either way lol.

Do the swap first, then worry about selling your VQ.

Simple. 10,000 + your new motor/tranny.

You would have to be on meth to pay 4 grand for a rev-up motor. An lsx is a 12-14k swap if you do the majority of the work yourself.........much, much more if you intend to have a shop do it.

My .02, if you don't have the funds as it stands now, without selling the engine/tranny, don't go down this road. You're not going to have the capital to do it right. Things cost and take 3x more/longer than what you initially think.

sorry for the noob question, but can any engine be swapped into the 350z? What are the limitations or qualifications that make an engine compatible with another car?

That's a complicated question......can any engine be swapped in...no. If you have the funds and fabrication skills....you can make many fit. You have to account for changes in just about everything...driveline, motor mounts, trans, trans mounts, ecu, etc....etc.

physical size of the engine, as long as it fits in the engine bay it can be swapped in with a bunch of custom work. if its a bit bigger than the engine bay, that could work to if you cut the firewall...

basically with enough money you can swap any engine in within reason (you can't swap in a 50,000 hp diesel ocean liner engine)
