Default Throttle body failure

The throttle body on my car has been acting very weird for some time now. It will randomly be completely unresponsive to any kind of throttle inputs. Do I need to replace the entire TB unit, or can I do something else to rectify the problem?

The full TB needs to be replaced. That is a common problem with our cars. You should be able to find a good working condition one at a junk yard. Just make sure they will refund if the unit does not work.

I was told to replace the whole thing and my car has been working perfectly ever since.

My 2005 350Z had about 7500 miles on it and the throttlebody failed. Dealer replaced it under warranty. Yes, the whole throttle body has to be replaced. My check engine light stayed on and my car ran in "limp mode" until it was replaced.
