crack on friction plate

Default crack on friction plate

hi guys, i got my new clutch kit today, but i found a crack on friction plate when i open the box, just wondering is the crack like that(in the picture) really matters? i posted pic in this thread, please provide your suggestions please. thanks a lot,cheers

yea, i think so too, but since its an international shipping,cost money and time,but if this is not a big deal, i will just go with this friction plate,thanks

Its gonna cost u more if it has problem after you installed it. Plus, you cant return it anymore.

yea probably send it back dude. that particular damage in the picture probably wont have a noticeable effect on the operation, but u dont know if whatever caused that damage may have weakened the any part of the rest of the disc. the last thing you want is for that thing to fall apart on you when its installed. i'd send it back, spend a bit of time/money for some true peace of mind.

thanks guys, i agree,i actually talked to a old guy who has been working on car for over 35 years, he said this is nothing, but i still donot think so, i think i might losen up the friction material. i am gonna contact Kyle from car pro, see if he can send me a new one. thanks again bros

why take the chance? you spent the money for a proper clutch. Why install it knowing it has damage already? who knows what else could go wrong.

Plus this will/should make the company aware that they need to double check their items before they get boxed and shipped.


it will be peace of mind, once its replaced
