Default drove with bad clutch till it died

Hey guys, I drove my 2003 Z knowing that the clutch was slipping. (it would not start moving until a high RPM) It finally gave out with no movement whatsoever and had to get it towed.

My question is, did I damage anything else other than the clutch and flywheel?? What else should I replace now that I have to drop the tranny?

The car idles fine with no abnormal sounds from the transmission.

The driven plate (above) has a friction surface similar to a brake pad. Once the friction surface is gone you have metal-to-metal contact - driven plate to flywheel. Not good for flywheel. Resurface the flywheel or get a new one.

This place has pretty good prices if you're looking for stock. They have others also, but the link is just to the stock stuff.

Thank you, I thought it may have been worse. Thanks for the link, any place outside Cali is good to buy, this 9.75% sales tax sucks!

The Z has 85,000 miles on the original clutch, so maybe it was time.

Sounds like it's time for a new flywheel too...
