Default Chattering NOise!!

When i drive my car for a little while and I stop there is a chattering noise coming from the transmission. When i press in the clutch the noise goes away. When i release the clutch the noise cames back. I took it to the dealership and of courseeee they say they said they couldn't hear anything. It doesn't do it all the time but it's a 08 touring 6mt with 10k miles and its embarrasing to hear it. Any ideas??

I have the same exact issue with only 10000 miles. I took it to the dealership and they told me that they will replace my transmission under warranty.

Default chatter

would getting a new clutch stop this chatter? Some clutches claim to be a reduction in noise chatter, anyone noticed a diff?

Probably not. The dual mass flywheel is already doing a lot in quieting the chatter. I can't see it being any different with a new clutch. If you replace the flywheel with a solid lightened one, the chatter's worse.

OP, yes, it's normal.

you guys keep saying its normal but it isn't. The car has a slight noise and when you hit the clutch it goes away, ya thats the normal one. but this noise only happens sometimes and is loud and it sounds like someone threw quarters in the transmission and when you press the clutch it goes away so idk about normal

You're right. What do we know about these cars?

stop putting quarters in your transmission... it takes gold boullion or in case if emergency you can put blood diamonds to make it home.
