Not necessarily. My Z does the same crap now, the needle runs to 7500RPM. Osiris logs show redline is 6950RPM. The tach eventually becomes uncalibrated. Before my tune, the needle would go as far as 7200RPM, and Osiris would log 6650RPM redline.

while youre here spork, any engine damage or anything harmful happen if i bounce off rev limiter? ^^ thank you its really hard to read explanation on this i dont understand some english words thanks
and i dont race my car like most people here just regular driving i dont want to look like a dumb guy and dont know about car because i have a 350z, i just got this car really cheap and well im more into studying career so yea if i can just get really quick help if something can happen to the engine i appreciate help

To the Op. Unless you're hearing a knocking or loud metal grinding, i'm sure you're ok. Go check your oil, and play with the rev limiter.
