removing throw out bearing
The release fork holds the release or "throw out" bearing with a couple springs that hold it to the pivot ball. Give it a quick tug and it will come off, just have to make sure you set the ends of the springs back into place before putting it back on.
If you plan on replacing the release bearing though, you'll need a press to press the old bearing off it's sleeve and press on your new one.
