P2A03 Gremlin from Hell
The secondary O2 sensors (the ones in the cat section) are used only for emissions purposes. The wideband sensors in the primary section (in the exhaust manifold) are what the ECU is using to read and adjust fuel settings. So, no, that's not possible. Unless those sensors are throwing codes, you don't need to worry about having suffocated them too much or anything to that effect. First things first, check for exhaust leaks.
those sensors were throwing codes until i used the non foulers + steel wool. tomorrow ill get the car in the air and remove the steel wool and see if that helps.
there are no intake/exhaust leaks. car ran fine with no codes prior to installing test pipes, then test pipes go on and i get secondary codes, so i plug them, then i get primary o2 codes. ill do another inspection for leaks while im under the car saturday though.
its throwing a code b/c im running rich........so a nice tune to bring the a/f back where it needs to be should eliminate that code considering there isnt any leaks, correct?
so in addition to my own inspection i decided to confirm it by taking it to a shop and having them listen for it......no leaks.
im thinking the secondaries have something to do with this, since they were on first

Freeing up the exhaust side seems to be giving the HR with its exhaust side changes from the RevUp. I had the same codes thrown but once the leak was found all codes are gone and she runs strong. Has anyone with an HR with HFC, SP and/or headers been able to slove this problem?

well after we installed the berk test pipes, i threw a code for the secondary o2's, so i packed a little steel wool in the o2 hole and the next day i did the non fouler trick with a little steel wool in the non foulers. a few days later after a WOT run i threw the p2a03 code.
yesterday i took all the steel wool out and just have the non foulers in the o2 holes. drove for about 50 miles last night making a few WOT runs and the cel didn't come on yet.
but im sure since i said something, it will return today
so i took the steel wool out and reset everything saturday afternoon. yesterday afternoon i threw the cel, brought it in and pulled the p0420 code, which i guess is better than the p2a03 code.....so ill just let the tuner shut that off, or some o2 simulators
if its not one, its the other lol

I just had the P2A00 which is the same but on the other side, correct? I had bad cracks in my tp's from bottoming out the car.... Grrrrr!!! I had the cracks welded, and now it's good. You might want to inspect your cats/tp's, and replace the gaskets maybe?
Well, I've been having the P2A00 (same code, other side) and just found out I'm having a major oil consumption problem - going in for an Oil-Consumption test probably this week to see about possibly getting a new engine. Funny you should ask that as soon as I find out.
Well, I had my short block replaced per the oil consumption problem, but the error code has come back, and the same symptoms have been observed in Cipher. This is getting stupid. But at least we now know it's not a problem in the lower half of the engine, right?
thats what im thinking about doing to my code but then i have a problem doing emissions since turning the code off using uprev puts the code in "ready" mode (atleast thats what i have been told)
As if I don't have enough bs I just got this code. At least I can read & clear immediately with my Nuvi.
I doubt it is the sensor because both pre cat sensors have less about 10k on them.
I don't suppose anyone found a solution?
