Default 03 Transmission, rebuild or new CD009?

I finally got the Z and already having that notorious 3rd and 5th gear grind. I got a quote for 800 parts & labor to rebuild 3rd and 5th gear synchros. But i don't know how reliable this will be. Would putting in new synchros from the new CD009 transmission fixes the problem? As much as I want the replace it with a new CD009, rebuilding the transmission seems a lot cheaper. What do you guys think?

Think you pretty much answered your own ? but you could pick up a used 009 for less than the rebuild much less and just put the extra $ towards a new clutch

LOL. definately get the CD009. First through fourth gear have extra syncos and the transmission gearing is more "bulky". It's a stronger and more reliable transmission and the CD009 version is the latest and strongest version for VQ35DE engines. I got mine at the dealership by bargaining with the sales guy. I got it for $1600 when you have to pay at least $2000 for it anywhere else.
