Well because of this thread. I am getting my baseline done Thursday. I just have CAI and a ground kit on the engine. So no significant gains there. Once I get my Nismo exhaust(hopefully today) I will do another dyno in another week or 2.

Everyone was pretty confident with the accuracy of the dyno, even if it was off. Temperature wasn't extemely cold or warm ~75-80 degrees. A baseline for a stock Z got 237, and then konverter got a 244 w/ his <Nismo> exhaust. 7-10hp gains from an exhaust almost perfectly matches other (more accurate) dyno testing that has been done for his exhaust.

Whats with all the flame-trolls on the thread? With this attitude your actually discouraging members from posting their dyno sheets, so I suggest unclenching those butt cheecks and taking the data for what it is, useful to you or not.

The ENTIRE reasn this thread has "Flame Trolls" as you put it, is that someone claimed a gain from a mod without having a baseline. No Baseline = No IDEA if there was a gain or a loss. In your quote above you say "a baseline for A stock Z'... Sorry, but each car is different, even stock. Some are stronger than others. If it's not a baseline from YOUR OWN car, it's not YOUR baselin.

If I remember, this person drove his Z HARD before break in. MAYBE his baseline would have been 250 rwp, (ifsome breakin theories are correct.) Him dynoing at 244 with a Nismo, MAY have LOST 6 hp.

Bottom line is... WITHOUT YOUR OWN BASELINE you CAN'T CLAIM GAINS OR LOSSES...

No claims were ever made. No one said if you did this you'd have a guarantee X increase in HP. We just listed the mods and our results. Thats all. In some other threads the guys have summed up their own personal opinions based on the numbers of other participating dyno members, as to what their next purchase might be. I don't see how that is related to what you might purchase it the future. We're free to buy what ever gadget we want .. But I do appreciate the insights of others. and the information we posted.

SEMA time got to go............

He pulled 7rwhp over another stock Z on the same day and same dyno that matches roughly the same gains proven by others while using accurate procedures for a dyno test. If he feels he has made gains, he has every right to post his opinion or belief, but he's not claiming the numbers to be accurate.

Then you must think that everyone that has ever posted any comments regarding gains they felt from the 'butt dyno' should have their posts scrutinized because they didn't follow proper dyno procedures.

I think some take the posted data on this board for granted. I appreciate the fact that some members take the time to share their opinions and research that we all benefit from.

For goodness sake! All we are saying is that you can't say, AND I QUOTE....""I was shocked to see the gains just from the exaust"

You can't claim to "see" any GAIN unless you have a baseline ON YOUR OWN CAR. We are not saying that he didn't follow proper dyno procedures or anything else. It's that simple.

Konverter, I like you man. This isn't meant as an attack on you. I am only trying to clarify what I meant by my first post in this thread.

Thanks Bonz. I'm glad to know I have someone in agreement with me.

Konverter, I also have NO issues with you at all. I bet your exhaust DID add some HP. (As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters.)

Hey I know guys... Im not the kind of person to take something personally especially when it comes to a car and a measurement like HP. I love my car, modded or not, high horse power or not. Just as much as reading of others.

I know I cant show a definate gain because I had no baseline. By average Stock Dyno's I show a gain. But I know I cant proove anything by that.

One thing I KNOW for a FACT even though it is still a personal opinion my exaust DID add an AMAZING sound to the Z, and I can chirp the wheels in 3rd. hhe..

On my next dyno with mod's we will know beable to say that adding __________, ___________, __________, ___________ and ____________. made a diference

I never take anything personally, I feel no different towards any of you then I did before i posted this thread or now. I am a very easy going person, dont really let anything bring me down

03ZorME - how do you like the S03's. I put a pair on my rear tires and feel they break loose very easly. What are you feeling about them? Im now debaiting on putting my rear on my front wheels and getting some 275's S03's for my rear's.

Well, I only have Fronts. (Dealer wouldn't replace the rears as there was no feathering / cupping back there.) As for the fronts, I think they are a bit quieter than the stock RE040s. I also KNOW they are wearing much better. In MY case, an alignment and the new S-03's has resolved my cupping issue. I now have well over twice the miles on the S03's as I did when the RE040s were already replaced.

I am looking to get new wheels / tires though. I think from what replies I got on another thread, I'll be trying out the GoodYear F1 GS-D3 tires.

See the thread

I got 250 hp with grounding cables. I doubt they make that much hp.

And I got 254 with the nismo exhaust and grounding cables.

SAE corrects for temp and altitude I believe.

Corrects for temp, humidity and barometric pressure. So if you dyno on different days you can see a real change vice changes caused by atmospheric parameters. It will add HP if you dyno on a hot day or take some if you dyno on a cold day. I think the SAE temp is around 85*F. So if a dyno run is done on a colder day then Actual will give you bigger bragging rights vice SAE.

Also then you should be able to compare two cars on two different dyno's of the same type can come up with a "true" comparison.

Just goy my base dyno. Here are my results and a graph of my third run. Currently this dyno is with CAI and grounding kit. The next dyno will be Nismo Exhaust and Random Tech hi-flo cats in about 2 weeks. Want to break in the new mods.

DynoRun 1
Max Power 235.1 HP
Max Torque 229.8

DynoRun 2
Max Power 236.0 HP
Max Torque 233.1

DynoRun 3
Max Power 238.6 HP
Max Torque 233.9

Temperature was 76 degrees. Dyno was done in 5th gear.
