Default AMSOIL GL-4 Transmission Oil for 6MT: Anyone used it?

I'm looking specifically for reports of those who have used this product in their 6MT. I have an '08 Touring.

Any problems with difficult shifting when cold? Any problems otherwise?

I bought this stuff, now after searching and reading about other oils, some would suggest the Nissan oil is the best. If so, I can live with that, but am looking for Amsoil product experience to decide.

Thanks!

I've ran it for a few years now with no issues, transmission still felt notchy, apparently the Redline helps alot.

I do NOT drive my car in the winter however.

I was in a bind and had to switch back to the Nissan garbage when I replaced my clutch and now have 2nd gear grind.

I will be switching to Motul soon.

That's where I started... I even searched for Amsoil. And while I read a LOT about it, my question remains relatively unanswered. I saw plenty of "I just changed my trans oil 10 minutes ago and it rocks", and lots of "how many quarts does the transmission take"... I even saw a few complaints in cold weather of other brands (RP, Motul).

But I didn't see anything specific to Amsoil and cold.

Sorry if this is duplicitous - just looking for honest-to-goodness "Yes, I've tried it in cold weather and..."

You also have the latest updated trans, the cd09's suck when cold , my original trans in the 03 was so much better in the cold.

my car has been using it for about 6 months now. A little tough when cold, but it was the same with stock fluid anyway. It feels very smooth on the regular. I feel safe using this tranny fluid and i dont plan on going with any thing else in the near future. Also got amsoil for my diff too.

PS warm up your car and you wont have any issues.

I also use it. It's terrible in the cold. I live in Texas, so it's relatively short period. I have had it for about 15k miles or so. I'll probably try something else the next time around.

I'm running it. Also in Texas, so not really cold ever, but never had any issues. Smoothed out the vibrations.

I have an '08 touring. I've had amsoil in it for 10k and I'm fed up with it, I just ordered OEM oil. Over the winter it was brutal, made me cringe shifting into 2nd during first 15 minutes of driving. Now I have grinds when I shift too fast into 3rd, 5th, 6th. My '06 G had the exact same symptoms after using amsoil for 8 months. I guess I thought it would fair better in the updated trans of an '08. It had OEM oil in it when I bought it and the trans shifted very smooth even in cold weather so... basically IMO f*ck that sh*t! I do however use amsoil 5w-30 in my HR engine and I love it.

You say you're not using it in the cold so I just wanna add that I get grinds in 3rd, 5th, 6th even after driving in warm weather for 45 minutes+
