Default Sounds inside the Z

So, I just picked up an 05 Z coupe with 60K miles and like anyone that buys a used car, you spend your life listening for sounds and trying to figure out why you got a good deal and what's going to fail "so people can give you the "that's why I never buy a used car" I told you so speech"

So, I've gotten the coolant flushed, the transmission fluid changed, and the LSD fluid changed, so now I can diagnose some of the cabin noises

Ok, so I've got the passenger side rattle - which I have searched and just come to realize that it's a phantom sound and I will fix it, only when it drives me nuts

Next - at 80mph in 6th around 3000pmg, there is a low whine or hum coming from the back of the car, after using the search option, there is much debate over this being the LSD or the fuel pump. It only happens when I am pushing on the gas - regardless of the cause, has anyone found this to be a warning sign of something dieing?

Finally - this has happened the last two mornings - get in my car and drive to work and when I am accelerating, there is a whooo-woo-whoooo sound that comes and goes in the cabin of the car. I am putting sure that it sounds like its coming from the center of the dash but sounds engine related and I don't here it in the afternoon when I drive home from work. Not sure but it sounds like wind, but I know it's not wind.

Thoughts? My search for whoo-woo and humming sounds hasn't worked

It's not a constant sound, it comes and goes, but I will be under the car today changing my oil, so I will definitely check that out. Anyone else have an idea?

I just took the car to Nissan for an inspection, along with the fluid changes, so I don't think that could be the problem. Could it be from the fluid changes?

Also, anyone that is curious, I got the Nissan dealership to change my transmission fluid, limited-slip differential fluid, and a coolant flush for $200.

Yes, I could have done this myself, but I just bought the car and thought having a Nissan tech crawling around under there wouldn't be such a bad idea and considering I had to get a state inspection anyway.

^that's not a terrible deal IF that includes the fluid costs.

I have some interior rattles that I can't figure out for the life of me. I've taken my dash apart twice. : (

yep, that's why I had them do it because after I priced the fluids, it seemed like an awesome deal

Crap, you think there is a ghost in my car? Does anyone know who I should call about this?

But yes, you are right, it's definitely a ghost like sound and it's not a constant sound and it comes and goes but has no particular pattern.

I get the woo-woo sound (ha) on cold mornings too, during acceleration, and I have always assumed it had something to do with the climate control system; maybe the air ducts are a little too frosty and the difference between outside and inside as the air flows in is causing it. Maybe the throttle body is cold, that extra chill air entering a now combusting engine is quite a contrast. I doubt it's anything detrimental as it goes away once the car warms up.

I don't mind, really, it's like the car and I can both complain about having to get up and be cold.

Good, all I wanted to see was that their isn't anything detrimental slowing occurring to the car, something that I could have prevented.

Alright, another noise, anyone get A TON OF ROAD NOISE, when they are slowing down and I swear every time I look at the speedo, it's around 18mph?

Road noise is almost always caused by tires. Check the treads, especially the insides. The camber angle in the 350 causes them to wear inside fairly quickly.

yep, that's exactly what the people at Nissan told me during the inspection, so I will keep an eye on that, but I am trying to hold out on new tires for a little while, since I just bought the car

Does the noise seem to come through the radio at all? I get one sometimes which I thought was a transmission whine.

But when i lowered the radio it went away. It might be the bose head unit maybe?
