remving a snapped bolt

Default remving a snapped bolt

when i was tightening down the forward most bot on the lower intake manifold
the blot snapped off. if i remove the lower manifold it will expose maybe half inch of the bolt soooo how do i remove it when pliers?

It's not a bolt, it's a stud. And yes, you can just remove it with some vice grips.

Do you own a torque wrench? If not, I would not suggest re-installing the upper/lower manifolds without buying one first.

i dont own an inch pound torque wrench i usually just follow the instructions from motordyne

hey Chris while i got your here any chance you know what ill need to check the voltage on a/f sensors and my injectors and what the stock volt rating is or how it works

You can use a digital multimeter to check voltage. The factory service manual will guide you through the process, it is pretty simple.

Vice grips are the way to go here after you get the rest of the upper intake off, if you still can't get it, grind flat spots on the side of the stud so the grips don't slip.

Screw 2 nuts together at the top of the stud and tighten them together, then put your wrench on the bottom nut and the stud should come out. If the nuts move tighten them until the flat sides are matched and use a deep socket over both nuts to remove it.

EDIT: I cant see the pics so I dont know if you actually have enough of the stud exposed to try this.

+1. I did the same thing with that same stud, and thats how I removed it. Works like a charm.

Just saw the pic. This method won't work.
