Default slack in clutch pedal

so i was driving my Z today and noticed there is a little slack in my clutch pedal. it used to be stiff as soon as i pressed it in, however now there is about 1" of play before it actually engages / gets stiff....

everything drives fine and the gears are solid, just curious why this would start happening....

pretty vague problem / description i know, but i dont know how else to describe it help!

What year is your car? Miles? Factory or aftermarket clutch?

sorry forgot to post details.

06 base model, 40k miles, stock clutch / everything drivetrain related.

I just took it on a 900 mile road trip and everything is now working fine, so im not sure what was up.

I had a miata when i lived in vegas that had the same issue only it was WAY worse, had to pump the clutch pedal over and over to build up pressure, this was a slave cylinder issue. hopefully thats not the case for my Z as everything is working as normal now...
