Default 4.08 swap directly from frontier?

I know that the 4.08 final drive is stock for the frontier. I would imagine the final drives out of these vehicles would be in pretty good shape and relatively un-abused.

Is it possible to go to a junk yard and pick up a final drive from a frontier?

Other than bearings and bushings or the install kits that come along with the other final drives out there, what else would be needed to get this to work?

Also, I tried reading through the seemingly endless pages of final drive threads and some started to get off track but no one ever said if this is a true swap.

Quick question guys. I've read a few more threads about this and from what I've read is that everyone who has done this gear ratio swap used the 4.08 gear ratios from a 2006 Frontier for a 370z rear differential. I believe the gear rations I have came out of a 2005 Frontier. Can anyone verify if the 2005 ring and pinion will work with the 370z swap ? I have a 2004 Base Manual 350z and the rear diff from the 370z is also a manual so I know it will fit. I took it to a rear differential specialist and he said he couldnt fit the 4.08 ring and pinion into the 370z rear diff. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's definitely not something the average person can do. You need hundreds of dollars in tools and tons of experience.
