Codes p1273 and p1283
Hi guys my SES light has been on for a while and today I had it checked and it's throwing code 1273 and 1283. I saw the codes on the thread above but i was wondering how can i fix this?
I dont have any help, but my car just started throwing the 1283 code yesterday after 2000 miles after the supercharger install. If I had to guess its probly a rich condition because of the gas smell on my car. Ill do some research and get back to ya
Ok, still no update but man this forum is lacking in info. Just guess guys on here are not into pursueing there own fixes. Anyways I still havent done any trouble shooting, but I think its got to be a fouled sensor. People are getting the similiar code on the passenger side bank. My car is extremely rich. I am going to install my wideband hopefully this weekend, and will confirm. Then we will know its a tuning issue. Its throwing a code for a lean condition but I highly doubt its lean. Ill be back next week.
If you don't provide enough information, you cannot expect to get any useful responses. Should we assume the OP has a stock car and is getting these codes? If so, just take it to the dealer and get it fixed - no response is necessary.

I agree more info is needed, but you have a pretty good concept of whats going on from other threads. He has a reported lean condition on both banks. I think most of these code issues are in FI applications.
i just got done dealing with p1273 and 1283 errors...
i had to replace my o2 sensor(bank 1 sensor 1) and that was the end of it.
this is probably the solution to your problem.. aside from your exhaust leak..(get that fixed first obviously).. then try replacing the sensor if u still have SES light on

did u replace it your self? im having a hard time getting to my primary o2 sensors : / ....
Ok so I got the P1273 code... Quick question, How many O2 sensors are there (2,4) and where are they (cat ) ? Also since this code is for an air Fuel sensor Heater Bank 1 then where is that located? Any Diagrams would be nice. Thanks!
if u get ur car on a lift u can see 2 that are connected to your cats and 2 that connect to your exhaust manifold
I searched on here and cant seem to find an answer for this problem. I just threw both these codes again. I have monitored my loggs and I am running so rich I dont see anywhere that the ecu had to add much fuel to correct my AFR's. Infact through many logs my ecu has been pulling a ton fuel just to remain stoic.
Figured I would post on this again. I still recieve this code weekly. Theres a brief period going into boost (sometimes) that the ecu adds fuel. However its well within the range of the stock ecu's compensation. So the AF's are in check. I have many logs and I am not seeing this lean shift on both banks. Depending on the week some times I get 1273 and sometime 1283 and sometimes both. I dont know what is causing this but everything seems to be in check. I am thinking about having a reflash in order to remove these codes.
Some one chime in and tell us the secrect to these B/S codes.
