I am beginning to realize that I have spent over $17,000 on MODS for my Z. How much have other people spent?

here is my breakdown by trip to specific vendors in order:


$6825 - Stillen supercharger/exhaust w/labor and new hood
$375 - paint hood
$800 - install SC
$350 - fix bad install
$3500 - tires/wheels
$2800 stereo
$2517 - Stillen intercooler and flywheel w/labor

Grand Total of $17,167

Price of car before Mods = $35,300 with tax


TOTAL : $52, 467

 

1500 exhaust including shipping
2400 for rims plus 1000 for tires and 100 for delivery
so that puts me into 5,000 plus 36,000 for the car

 

show the stereo. i wanna see what 2800 got you.

they had a thread like this before....it was a few months ago though. i wonder how you compare to many of the others who have superchargers and custom turbos and custom kits and whatnot. that's pretty damn high though! more pics! more pics!

true we probably should have bought a new zo6 or a used m5 with the money invested in the z

I dont know about the ZO6 thing. I am sure we will find out in Dec how my car does. Its got 300 pounds of torque to the wheels at 2000 - 6500 rpm and doesnt stray. The car is a beast. As far as what I got for my stereo read below in my profile. I dont have pics of the stereo yet, I will post later. here is another pic of my car.

$52k is a lot of money to spend but hey its a fun car!!!

i saw the profile. i want to see pics (my car is going into the stereo shop for a custom build (it already has a stereo in there...but, a stereo shop is making a demo car out of my car).

but, i'm not saying it the rude way....but, the z06 will still pull on you. i'm not going to put your car sucks or the z06 will kill you or make you look stupid....but, it'll still pull on you. oh well...you'll just have to make it faster, right?

i think the one person who spends and spends and spends is john! and, he's selling his car! yet, he's ready to buy a new set of rims! haha.

 

I had a 540i, then an M5. You dont get the head turning like you get in this car. If speed is all you wanted then go get a ZO6 and you can talk to my friend who traded in that POS that fell apart on him in a year. Thing rattled like you were on a rickety wood plank bridge. The Z is a fun car and yes true I never imagined spending 17k on it but its done with and I will enjoy every minute of it until it blows up!!!

Just kidding. Z is a great car not a truly refined car like the M5 but the M5 didnt cost $52k, it was $78k.

 

It's a valid question. With all the extra weight he's added, he'll need 400 to the wheels to even make a Z06 flinch.

ok here are some pics of my Z's stereo. Just went out and got these. Simple looking, cant tell from the naked eye from the outside that subs even exist. All amps are in the stock sub location.

Good luck with your Z Djkern!! I cant even count the number of days my Z "has been in the shop." Not the Nissan Dealer just misc shops. It's all worth it in the end. I love my car. I love it so much it hurts me to put miles on it!!!!

So who else has spent some money on this car??
