Default Any diff specialists around??

Ok so I've been having a whining noise coming from my rear diff. I had a 4.08 ring and pinion installed roughly 10-11 months ago. Last few months, I've been noticing a noise, mainly at highway speeds, different pitches of the noises coming depending on throttle position/load. Now that I have had the SPL rear solid diff mounts the noise is much more pronounced and annoying to be exact. I'm hoping its the bearings, so I took it to my installer and he said it sounds as if it could be the actual ring and pinion. Any ideas on the likelihood of this? I can now hear the sound from 30mph+ and almost all the way to a dead stop.

Without trying to be an internet mechanic I'd say it sounds to me like when the backlash was set, it was set too loose. The upside is that there is a much less likely chance of your bearings to overheat and potentially fail on you and the downside is that you will get gear noise as you may be hearing. Its hard for me to say that this is the case without actually taking apart your diff but I suspect this to be your issue.
