Default Need help. Power loss.

Ok, I have an 06.5 Revup Base Z.

I decided to install my MREV2 and went through the process of tearing the engine down. Got everything off, and just finished removing the lower collector.

Decided, since I have 92K on the clock, that I'd go ahead and change the spark plugs, since I was in there anyway. Got the same NGK Laser Platinum plugs that come OE in the Z.

Put everything back together, and was getting p0300. Random cylinder misfire. Did some troubleshooting, and found that I plugged in cylinders 4 and 6 backwards. Once I corrected this, and cleared the code, the car idled fine.

Finished putting everything back together, and tried driving around the block. Engine does not rev past 5K, when in Neutral, and won't go above 3K when driving. Also, no CEL for misfire, but when I drive above 2500rpm the CEL starts flashing... Even tried put the original plugs back in.

Also, noticed today that the left bank has no exhaust flow. I have the Injen SES true dual, and it's only flowing out the passenger side.

Cleaned the MAF and intake filter. and am considering cleaning the throttle body, as there's a lot of crap in there, but all I really want is for the engine to run right. Any ideas?

Engine ran PERFECTLY before I did any of this.

Recheck all your coils and the connection.

Also, check if you have a vacuum leak.

Is the engine still misfiring? Flashing CEL usually means that. Sounds like one bank is not firing/coils out of sync.

Ok I think I'm just gonna take it down again. All the way, like I did when I installed the mrev2 and start over. That way I can look at the coils again. Should I pull the plugs again too?

UPDATE:

op left his car at my house she sat there all day after having the throttle body clean'd out...so around ten at night I put here back together...start her up and everything sounded great...let her idle for about two minutes then proceeded to cruise around the block...everything sounds good. shifting around 2800-3500rpm...until I give it gas after that..trying to pass 3500rpm is goes from sounding great to ****...seriously sounding like it's about to blow up...

no CEL light at all..just what I can best describe as a bogging noise...

I notice a exhuast leak...question is a big enough whole in the exhuast enough to choke the car under WOT?

question of the day

not sure. I had a quarter-sized hole in the left side of the exhaust, at the axle-back, where the exhaust hangar broke off, from that steel plate on Kamehameha Hwy, and it ran fine. Rasped terribly, but ran fine.

Random thought... Maybe I messed up the MAF when I cleaned it? But wouldn't that make it idle all weird? Just thinking out loud...

from what kingbaby described, sounds like knock sensor went bad. this wouldn't throw a CEL but would show up if you plugged up a device to find the codes on teh car.

CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner.

Also used CRC Throttle Body Cleaner when I decided to clean the TB out.

So my OBDII reader would still find this, even though the CEL isn't on?

I'm gonna guess you hurt the MAF or you need to reset the throttle body. The engine is going into limp mode probably because it can't determine how much air is really coming in.

I was thinking maybe I hurt the MAF. Could have possibly plugged it back in, while the insides were still wet... Was pretty sure I let it sit long enough...

Guessing the TB is freaking out cuz of the MREV2?

I hope so too. I'm usually pretty good, when it comes to working on the car, but no idea what happened this time...

Unfortunately, I'm not in NC anymore, otherwise CIN would have my car lol

Don't forget this one either. I didn't realize you had a Rev-up.

Can your reader show you data from the MAF? Can you read the voltage when the problem occurs?

No idea. If it does, I don't know how to do it.
