Default Clutch replaced after 16k miles

I just had my clutch replaced after 16k miles which the dealer covered all the costs under "good faith" even though they claim user error. They ended up replacing the clutch disc, pressure plate and bushing, and buffed the flywheel. Numerous comments on my previous post said that the clutch replacement so early on was likely due to a faulty csc but the dealer said it was fine. I just got the car back today drove it home < 5 miles didn't got over 4k RPMs and the second I got out of my car I could still smell burning brake/clutch fluid. Could this still be related to a faulty csc and if not why the smell with a brand new clutch?

You are very lucky to get the dealer to replace wear & tear items under warranty. The smell is most likely your clutch breaking in. You probably should have paid for a new flywheel to go along with your clutch. They work in tandem and you may have issues with it down the road.

Brand new cars have brand new clutches, and they never smell like that. It needs to go back to the shop to make sure they didn't foul up on the installation.

How did they "buff" the flywheel? Maybe they left some oil on the surface that's causing the disc to slip. A short drive with no hard acceleration shouldn't get the clutch hot enough to give off any smell if everything is as it should be.

I agree, take it back. That doesn't sound normal.
I also agree that you're lucky for getting it replaced. I hear more comments on how it's a wear and tear item and cannot be replaced under warranty. Also, my understanding was the Dual Mass Flywheel could not be resurfaced?

I am not too sure how they "buffed" the flywheel. I asked but the guy who I've been dealing with hasn't been too helpful and honestly think he knows much. I took car in yesterday and they said it is normal to smell like that after clutch goes out and if still problem next week to bring it back in.
