The birth of a short shifter ---- TWM Performance
I like it over stock because of the ball bearings, but in my experience, short shifters/throws dont equal faster shifts. In 95% of people I help with driving the leg is the slow factor not the arm/hand, and further shortening the throw makes the timing needed that much more precise.
For people not into dragging though, this seems like a very well thought out shifter. Im curious to see if it would help my 4-5 notchiness, but I dont want a throw reduction.

The post was entertaining but the price is wayyyy too steep for me as well as many other members on here, and it probably won't be on top of our priority list of mods to buy. Worst case scenario, if I wanted shorter throw, I'll just shift faster...
Nailed it.

I will say that TWM makes high quality products. My last car was a 2002 Sentra Spec V. It suffered the same sloshy shifter that the 350z has. Granted the TWM shifter for my Sentra was only a cable shifter, and not a full mount in tranny shifter, it was still a high quality piece. My 350z shifter is nowhere near as precise and smooth as the TWM cable shifter that I had.
I had the Nismo adjustable short throw on my car for a while, but I never saw any difference...and for some reason I lost my gates. Thus I sold it and went back to stock. With the TWM now on the market though....it is tempting.

Some cheap bastids in this community! Guys will spend their whole paychecks on stick-on CF overlays and headlight/tail light mods, but can't seem to pony up the dough to improve a part that you use dozens of times every single time you get in the car, lol.
Before I start, i need to say that I have a 370 and that I was the beta tester for the TWM 370 SS.
First, the guys at TWM have a very clean working environment. When they invited me for a tryout, i was a bit suspicious about rattling (on cold start or a specific RPMs)... After 5 months with the short throw shifter in the car, i can confirm that no issues or what so ever arise over time.
Also consider that i do about 3 to 5 lapping events per season (we have long winters up here...) and that heating and sustained high revolution didn't have any effects on the installation.
It reduces the throw by about 40% and the height by about 0.25 inch. Very short yet smooth and easy to engage gears. Definitely adds to the fun factor of the car! I currently only have one picture taken at the shop to show the shifter installed (with OEM ***).
This mod is my #2 favourite (after my CBE) and has a great ROI (return on investment) that you can start to enjoy as soon as you engage 1st gear!!!
