Vishnu XEDE beta testers
Hi guys,
We operate a tuning shop out of the SF Bay, CA. We mainly specialize in Lancer EVO and Subaru WRX tuning. However, we recently finished the development of a Nissan 350Z specific XEDE engine control computer. This is the same basic add-on fuel/timing/boost(if applicable, of course) management computer we use on the WRX and EVO. For more info about the XEDE, pls see:
http://www.vishnutuning.com/xede_evo.htm
Unlike the WRX and EVO application, the Nissan XEDE isn't plug-in. This means that 4 wires will have to be cut in the engine control harness. If anyone in the SF Bay area is interested in being a beta tester for us, pls contact me at shiv@vishnutuning.com. Pls note that the XEDE is not for sale yet. We'd first like to get a couple testers out there to ensure that everything works as it should. This will involve custom installation and custom dyno tuning-- both of which we will do ourselves, of course. Pls feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
Shiv Pathak

We hope that the XEDE will perform as well as we are expecting on the 350Z. Unlike other naturally aspirated cars on the market now, there appears to be a good deal of power still left to be uncorked with engine management tweaks. The proof will lie in the dyno results, I suppose.

Shiv

Just curious about the XEDE. Is it software or hardware based? I suppose it could be a embedded CPU (ARM,PowerPC) of some sort with some nice DAC/ADCs and all that crap, or it could be a FPGA implementation with some interal DAC/ADC units. Seems like the later would lead to faster response and high control loop bandwidth/stability (plus potentially eliminate the need for PWM based controls).
This looks like a very high tech toy to be able to work in line with the existing system.

You guys are WRX and Evo godsGood luck though. So far no one has been succesful at gaining more than 7-8 hp from an engine management system (ECU or piggy back). I'm sure the EXEDE won't be cheap (in price) either.

BTW, our Stage 2 EVO just doubled stock wheel hp this past weekend with 25psi of boost

Yep. It was the red EVO 8. Rhys Millen brought the Silver EVO 7.

Well Vishnu, i am 18 and i just got my 350z this past month - ( i am totally stoked). In the upcoming months i was planning on doing some mods. If this beta test you want to run is free I can possibly let you play around, but if youre charging id rather spend money on things i know are going to work. I live in the sacramento area. e-mail me at AParshall04@hotmail.com if you want a faster response.

If you guys can appply the same magic to the Z as to the Evo(got to ride in one), you will be very wealthy.
