But i was just looking for something interesting to do... I am going to be rebuilding my motor, I have my Cosworth 11:! sitting in my closet and it made since while the motor was torn down to do as much to it whilst it was down...

I have never seen the top of a VQ37 block but I assume it is not toooo much different....

I found a picture of a vq37 and a vq35 Just to compare what they look like...

Because it makes about as much sense as your proposal.

the 37 block is very different from the 35 block. even the swap itself would not be worth the hassle. its alot more complicated than just a swap/ecu/harness. youd be better off stroking your current block.

I agree. You could turn your VQ35 into a high revving VQ38 for significantly cheaper than swapping the VQ37 block. Waste of money IMO.

Cool... So has anyone tried the block swap? What are the differences in the blocks? Bore + stroke or just bore?

I don't know if the DE heads will work, but the Grand Am 370Z is running 3.5HR heads on a 3.7.

Also to run an HR block you will need the newer trans, only half of the bolts will line up with the older trans.

That's only true for the 37 vs. the DE blocks. The HR and VHR blocks are more similar to each other than the HR and DE blocks.

I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too much hassle to put an HR head onto a VHR block, but I haven't done it myself so I could be wrong there.

Default 3.5 block 3.7 crankshaft.

Hey,I was thinking why not just use the crank
out of the 3.7 with the 3.5 block.Maybe the lower
part of the block might have to be machined to
make it work. And maybe the rods from the 3.7
with custom pistons?I was only thinking!!!Maybe.
